12/1 – Boulder Shelter Breakfast Volunteering

اسلام عليكم ورحمتلله وبركاته

In the spirit of community involvement, brothers and sisters of the ICB community continue to volunteer at the Boulder Shelter on a monthly basis for preparing and serving breakfast to our homeless brothers and sisters (First Saturday of every month). Allah SWT described the righteous in the Quran: “And they are those who give food – in spite of their own need , to the needy, and the orphan… [saying in their hearts],’We only feed you for the sake of God, and we desire nothing in return from you, not even a word of thanks’’”  (76:8-9).

If you are interested in participating, please coordinate with Imam Shoaib or brother Zaky, or email us using the contact form. Inshallah if we have enough people that are interested, we can work with the Boulder Shelter in providing more opportunities to volunteer than just on a monthly basis.

Please Welcome brother Mark to our Community

At the end of July, brother Mark discussed with Imam Sheikh for a few days as he had many questions and curiosity about Islam. In the end, he decided to become Muslim with the guidance of Allah. Please welcome him to our community.

Say (O Muhammad to mankind): “If you (really) love God, then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur’an and the Sunnah), God will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Quran 3:31)

Some pictures from ICB Summer Camp

These are some of the pictures from our summer camp. In this camp, our Muslim children learned how to use the bathroom according to the islamic way, implementing what Allah said in the chapter of repentance التوبة: “verily Allah adores those who repent to Allah frequently and those who  purify themselves correctly by using water after using the bathroom”, meaning, Allah loves those who take care of their bodies and hearts, they are pure inside and outside because of this. Allah praises them in his holy Quran.

(إن الله يحب التوابين ويحب المتطهرين)
The teachers in the school of Islamic and Arabic studies at ICB, taught the Muslim children how to use the bathroom based on the Quran and the true Sunnah of the prophet Mohammed- peace be upon him- because they want the Muslim children to be praised by Allah.
Also, the Muslim children learned how to make ablution like how the prophet Mohammed- peace be upon him- taught his companions- May Allah be pleased with all of them.
The teachers taught the Muslim children how to make wadoo وضوء ablution, because the prophet Mohammed -صلى الله عليه وسلم- said: “ablution is the key to prayer”, meaning, without making proper ablution, your prayer is not accepted.
( ومفتاح الصلاة الوضوء)
Also, those who make ablution correctly, on the day of judgment, Allah will make the parts they washed during ablution shine. Through this, they will be recognized by the prophet Mohammed- peace be upon him.
Finally, the teachers taught the Muslim children learned how to perform prayer applying what the prophet Muhammed- صلى الله عليه وسلم- said : “perform prayer like you have seen me pray.”
(صلوا كما رأيتموني أصلي)
Also, the prophet Mohammed-صلى الله عليه وسلم-said: “on the day of judgement, the first thing that you will be judged based on is prayer. If you are amongst those who perform Five daily prayers perfectly on time, your judgment will go smoothly, but if you do not care about the Obligatory prayers, your judgment may be tough.
( أول ما يحاسب عليه العبد يوم القيامة الصلاة، فإن صلحت صلح سائر العمل. وإن فسدت فسد سائر العمل)
Inshallah these Quran students will bring prosperity not only to our community, but also to the entire nation.
May Allah make them stable on the right way.
May Allah make them successful in this life and the hereafter
(Ameen)
Lastly, I want to thank the parents of these students for trusting us with their childrens’ Islamic education and the administrators of the school for their continued efforts in supporting the school. May Allah accept all of your good.

Volunteering Event at Boulder Shelter – 6/30

“And they are those who give food – in spite of their own need , to the needy, and the orphan,  and the captive, [saying in their hearts],’We only feed you for the sake of God, and we desire nothing in return from you, not even a word of thanks”  (76:8-9)

Alhamdulillah, Volunteers from the ICB along with imam Shoaib helped prepare dinner for the residents at the Boulder Shelter. This is expected to be a monthly event wherein ICB can be involved for the betterment of the community.
